Green light GO!

All is well and Green!

Red, Amber and Green for Go!

Sometimes in life we feel totally lonely and lost if something goes wrong. So many factors can play a role in one’s life. It could be the lost of material things or lost of a loved one or sometimes in a crafter’s life – ‘material ‘ project not turning out the way we anticipated. Red lights tell us to stop….

We feel disappointment, but if we look at the project with a fresh new eye, we can sometimes see deeper  than the actual disaster. It all depends what mood or attitude we look at it. Go for Amber…perhaps and have another look?

Do not give up, try again or try and make something new out of the disappointment. I had some experience a while ago when I tried to knit a pattern which did not go according to the pattern. Once all knitted, the ‘body’ would not even reach the armholes or the neck…where did I go wrong? I still do not know, but did not feel like unravelling the whole lot, so I looked at it from a different angle. Do I want to throw it in the bin? All that hard work and hours of changing  colours.
Something went twirly whirly wrong with the pattern.....or was it me who could not follow it? (more likely)

Can I make something ‘hippie and trendy’ out of it. I just loved the Bohemian colours that warmed the old heart and then I saw it! A bag. Yes,  that is what this craft gone wrong will become. A bag for someone trendy and happy person.

I took a deep breath and then a new creation was started out of the imperfect.  Whether you are a novice or experienced crafter, mishaps will always happen! It only makes you more creative!

The front and back of the ‘jersey’ was cut out for the bag. Part of the sleeve was appliquéd and made into a heart to go onto the top of the bag. The bag was lined with a blue /white cotton and the handle made with plaited material, to give it a casual look, yet strong enough to carry a heavy load

Pretty little love heart to say 'I love you'

See, out of a disaster was born a new creation. Think of your life like that. Turn a disappointment / disaster around into something positive!”
