Bags and Baggage

We all like our bags / handbags or holders to put our personal belongings in. It is our own private little space. Our own little heaven to carry whatever we fancy with us.

To me it is my Chanel nr 5, tissues and a pen and notebook and most of all a crotchet needle and some wool. I never know when I get a few minutes to keep idle hands busy. Could be the airport or the station or waiting rooms.

Some of us carry emotional baggage with us that is unnecessary. Baggage that should have got rid off many moons ago.

Someone once wrote,

‘’if you carry a bag of potatoes with you all the time:-

1. the heavy load will make you tired and cast your eyes on the ground

2. after a while the potatoes will go rotten and the smell will stick to you and chase people away from you (nothing smells as bad as a rotten potato!

3. you will not be able to smell something fresh and bright and light

4. Soon you will be part of the rotten baggage’’

Here is a little bag my sister (Clarissa Rudd from Jeffreysbay made for my granddaughter) It is a stunning ! Made of the most lovely pieces of square material pieces grouped together. Ideal for a little girl. There are teddies/tea pots/ flowers and many more. Four bright buttons secure the lovely plaited handles. In the front there is a lovely little bright yellow button to close it to guard the little private space.
